History

Piedmont Healthcare Management Group, Inc. (PHMG) commenced operations as a stand-alone company on January 1, 2004, based in the Piedmont region of (Charlotte) North Carolina. Prior to that time, the Company operated as a division of Piedmont Emergency Medicine Associates (“PEMA”), a 23-year old emergency and hospitalist physician practice. PEMA is one of the largest, independent physician practices in the southeast with annual revenues in excess of $20 million.

The award winning emergency and hospitalist medicine physicians of PEMA formed PHMG to oversee their physicians' practice management needs, as well as to begin offering similar services to other emergency and hospitalist medicine physicians throughout the United States. PHMG now offers unparalleled performance in improving clients’ bottom lines. Because of PHMG's physician ownership base and continued physician involvement, the Company understands the need to include clinical expertise in healthcare business planning and decision-making.
